Weekly relegation update

By: Jeremy | April 19th, 2008

I know it is a little late, but I had to pay taxes this week, so here it is. Banfield has already lost, so while their average is lower than listed here, they maintain the same place.

Since last week, Gimnasia (LP) has overcome Argentinos and Racing finally won one, vaulting up to 15th. San Martin came back down to earth after a loss and is back into the promotion spots. Olimpo still drags up the rear, kind of like Derby in the EPL.

This week features the battle of the Gimnasias and Colon takes on San Martin, so a few teams have a chance to put some real distance between themselves and their fellow relegation strugglers.

For Newell’s, it is all about Boca this week. With Spolli out, the defense will have to step up big if we are to have a chance. Really, any points taken would be a huge deal, since the game is at the Bombonera. Vamos Newell’s!

Racing fan here! Down with the Bosteros! Beat them just ’cause they’re no “la mitad mas uno” and ’cause they’re Boca. Win one for Nestor Sensini and Abel Balbo.

KMD I would like nothing better than to give them a little beat down on their own turf. Riquelme is in, but they are resting several other ahead of the Maracaiba clash for the Libertadores.

    3-0 up. 3-1. 3-2. 3-3. God, what a mess…

Yeah, I would try and say look at the bright side, at least you took a point. But man that was brutal. Although by the looks of it, you’ll still be out of the promocion spots.
