Catch up

By: Jeremy | September 5th, 2008

Ok, it’s been almost a week since my last post, so I thought I would hit a quick round up while I have a couple of free minutes.

Alejandro Da Silva injured his ankle in practice this week and had surgery on it yesterday. He is out of action for six to seven months. I wasn’t a big fan of his this season, but I wish him the best of luck in his recovery.

Cristian Fabbiani finally is eligible to play. His transfer has arrived from Romania. Thank you.

This is completely a guess, but look for Ferreyra to get a shot at reclaiming his starting spot after that 88th minute goal to save a point against Colon.

Speaking of Colon, not a total disaster, but three points would have been a whole lot nicer. Considering that Newell’s has only won 5 games at Colon in all of it’s history, a draw is a decent result. The problem was the loss the previous week at one of the most beatable teams in the league only leaves us on 4 points.

The reserve team continued it’s dominance of the starters this week in practice. Maybe some of the reservists need to make it on the field next week. I’m just asking.

I won’t miss da silva, sorry but he didn’t play good at all lately. Caruso was right to put him apart. I hope we going to improve becouse the last two games are nightmares. Go la lepra!!!! bye bye Lopez!!!!
