Garay sold to Real Madrid
By: Jeremy | May 24th, 2008Ezequiel Garay, after a fantastic season with Racing Santander, was sold to Real Madrid for somewhere around 10 million euros. I know this news is like a week old, but I haven’t posted since then. First of all, good for Garay. I guess that game winning goal against RM got their attention. Although he will spend next year on loan with Santader.
Second of all, good for Newell’s. They own a percentage of his sale over 8 million. Which means that NOB should see maybe 1.5 million US for his transfer, if that evil president Lopez doesn’t find some way to dump it into his own pockets, which wouldn’t be the first time.
We’ve got the makings of a decent team, and that cash would certainly help with next season’s squad. Maybe since most of the NOB fans are screaming for elections this year, (after some crazy amount of years without one due to Lopez and his political/judicial cronies machinations – who are mostly dead or retired or transferred) Lopez will be prudent and invest it in the club.
Personally, I hope he invests it in the club, allows elections, and gets the big fat boot.
