Good Article on Sensini
By: Jeremy | January 18th, 2010The folks over at La Capital have an interview up with Roberto Sensini where he talks about growing up poor and making it as a football player.
For those of you who don’t read Spanish, he talked about selling watermelons alongside a highway from the ages of 10-15 for five hours a day. His family grew the melons on a little piece of property they had. The last question – do you eat watermelons? His answer – No!
At age 15 he took work in a bar to be able to pay for daily transportation from his house into Rosario where he played for the lower divisions of Newell’s. His daily schedule included school, a long commute to train, training, a long commute home, work and sleep. Somewhere in there he fit in homework, family, and eating.
Anyway, check it out if you understand Spanish.
