Heady days

By: Jeremy | October 6th, 2008

After all of the turmoil off the field this off season, its nice to be able to sit back over this international break (which is not coming at the best time for Newell’s) and enjoy the team’s success thus far.

The loss to Gimnasia de Jujuy may come back to bite us in the butt if we keep up the pressure on San Lorenzo. Failing to take any points out of that game hurt.

With 10 games to go and 5 points down, we have to win the match against San Lorenzo, and then pick up 3 points somewhere. See where no points against a very beatable team would have been great.

Other than that, it has been a great run thus far. We should have a good idea how the season will end by the time the Clasico rolls around. Hopefully we’ll be beating Las Canallas and gaining ground on San Lorenzo.

It won’t be easy, because they are on fire right now, but it is possible. Who knew that with all the crap that happened to begin the season that we would be making a serious run for the title? Vamos Newell’s.
