He’s Back!!

By: Jeremy | June 26th, 2008

Ok, he never really left, but just a couple of days ago I was convinced he was leaving. But today he signed a one year contract, keeping him at the Coloso until July of 2009. Yahoo!!!

Ricardo Caruso Lombardi

Now all we need it to determine the two players to be sold (Sasa and Spolli, I’m guessing), sign some more players and chase a title (or at least a copa spot). I’m a tad bit giddy, which is crazy since I have never even seen this team play in person, and I already have a man-crush on Slaven Bilic, the Croation national team coach. Oh well.

One day, Jose, I will make it to Rosario to see a clasico. Until then, I will take much joy that Caruso is back for another year. Seriously, we will challenge for a title and a copa spot next year. Vamos Newell’s.

Sebastian, any help is appreciated. Never having been to Rosario makes this blog a bit more difficult to write. All I have are internet sources and games on tv. Not the same as being there.

2 good places is Tycsports.com that is argentinas equivalent of ESPN
The citys newspaper website is Lacapital.com.ar it has an online supplement is called “ovacion”. There excellent!

    PS
San Martin de Tucuman’s Goalkeeper German Caffa signed today
It is also expected that Tiro Federal’s central defender Juan Pillud and Juan Insauralde from 2nd division Chacarita Juniors should be signing in the next few days.

I saw the Caffa signing and I wouldn’t be surprised if Pillud signed as early as tomorrow morning. I’ve not heard of Insauralde as a target yet, but things are constantly in flux. I’ll get a post up about comings and goings here shortly.

I use TyC a bit but haven’t gone to the ovacion site. I check in at Ole and Rosario3 a good bit, as well as an assortment of fan sites and other sports sites.
