I Forgot One Thing

By: Jeremy | November 28th, 2008

Seems like Gamboa isn’t happy with the physical conditioning of the team. He went even so far as to blame the regimen of the previous coaching staff as the reason. You can imagine what previous coach Ricardo Caruso Lombardi had to say to that. Roughly translated, he said Gamboa is full of crap, and the problem was all Gamboa’s, and he went on to point out that if there was a problem with his training then it wouldn’t be possible that all three of the teams he (Caruso) put together are either fighting for the title (Newell’s and Tigre) this year or were in the semi-finals of the Sudamericana (Argentinos). Can’t you just feel the love.

All I can say to that is: Gamboa has the team playing attractive attack futbol, and when that fails they’ve shown they can switch to a long ball counter-attack. Under Ricardo Caruso Lombardi, all they did was play for the counter.

As for the physical conditioning, that has been a problem in futbol teams from the beginning of time.

Yeah, I think Caruso is just responding to try and keep his chances for getting another A job alive. The team looks way better on offense this year. Caruso pointed to a couple of games and said they lost because they didn’t go on the attack. When did he ever have a great attacking team? Plus, like half the team missed most of preseason since they signed so late. They’ll be fine next season.

The reality is we don’t have the players we used to have many years ago when we were champions and we were raising many inferiores players, those amaizing players that we don’t have any more with Lopez. He kicked out Grifa since then we no longer make those graet paleyers. Lopez started to bring many players for second division, some times he got luky but many times didn’t.
we need this rat out and work hard to put Newell’s where Newell’s deserve to be.

    Go la lepra carajo!!!
