Lope$ gets shot down and Fabbiani wants to stay.

By: Jeremy | December 4th, 2008

Well, the court didn’t take too long to veto the decision by the NOB Electoral Board, all of them Lope$ supporters (even the guy not there, who is in jail on charges of ephedrine trafficking). So the elections are back on. Now we’ll just wait and see what Tio Eduardo has up his sleeve next.

Interestingly, it does seem like Lope$ pissed of judge Ivan Kvasina since he went ahead and said that now no one will be required to pay the three months of quotas in order to vote. This was after his staff verified that Lopez had intentionally made it impossible, or nearly so, for socios from the opposition to pay their dues. Take that, Rathole.

In other news, Cristian Fabbiani has expressed his desire to stay with Newell’s beyond his loan, which ends in June 2009. There is a 3 million euro purchase option, and it is believed that the club are trying to work that out, maybe by including German Re in the deal. While I do like the thought of Fabbiani coming, I don’t like the thought of Re leaving.
