Newell’s 1 - 0 Velez

By: Jeremy | December 1st, 2008

Well, it was a game full of effort, but not much finishing. But I’ll take a win any day. With the three points, La Lepra leapfrog Velez in the standings and now sit fifth. Video of the goal after the jump.

I’ll try and get a better review up later today. Insuarralde with the goal. Fabbiani with the header to set it up. Interesting note, 23 goals this year, 12 of those by defenders.

I’m from Atlanta, GA. If you look at some of the comments, you’ll find that I am not the only English blogger on Newell’s. David has a blog also. Apart from us though, I think that is it.

I’ve yet to meet a Newell’s fan who didn’t speak poorly of dear old Uncle Edward. I started following Newell’s somewhere around the end of 2002 and I have not been impressed by Lope$. I can’t wait to see him (and Pimpi and the boys) out of there. Maybe then I could even become a socio.
