Newell’s 1 – Independiente 0
By: Jeremy | September 21st, 2008I didn’t get to see the mid-week match since I spent the week at the beach on an island with my family. I understand that Gamboa wasn’t happy, but a point is better than nothing.
Now, today’s game was fantastic. Best they have played yet. Diego Torres was fantastic, again. Add in Fabbiani’s first goal, and the forwards played great as a unit. The defense was solid again and the midfield looked better than past games.
I’ll try and get a better review up later, but wanted to post this for now. Vamos la lepra.
A win in the midweek match against Boca and only San Lorenzo would be in front of us.

Great game, happy to see newell’s attack very agresive, D Torres was a nightmare for independiente defence like fabiani too, and little Torres did a good game. Go la lepra!!!

If Diego Torres keeps up his pace, it should be a really good game. The team seems to be gelling now. Maybe Gamboa finally got his message across. A win against Boca and we are thinking 2004 again. Not that a draw or even a loss would kill us, but winning would send a bit of a statement.
