Newell’s 3 - 3 San Lorenzo
By: Jeremy | November 19th, 2008Wow. The first game all season that I missed in its entirety and it turned out to be a barn burner. I’m disappointed that la Lepra lost, but proud that they fought back from an opening 14 minutes that were disastrous. Being down 2-0 that quickly is tough to deal with, but they did, getting one back before a shaky (or so I have read) penalty call put San Lorenzo up 3-1. Two goals and voila, NOB ties it up.
I have never seen the exchange that is going on between Fernando Gamboa, Cristian Fabbiani, and referee Pablo Lunati. Lunati actually said that he didn’t have a great first half and that for the second half he “went out with his knife between his teeth.” Fabbiani has been especially critical of him, and Gamboa was sent off for applauding him when he didn’t call an obvious penalty on Fabbiani committed by Aguirre.
Gamboa today called him a liar and uneducated when Lunati said that Gamboa had been mock applauding him through the whole game. Players on both sides of the ball have commented on what was surely not Lunati’s finest night as a referee.
Every day somebody says something else. If this were English football, suspensions and fines would be handed down rather harshly. But in the AFA, these things have their own way of working themselves out.

Lunati is a lunatic, just see his face and the way he act. I have opposites feelings about this game becouse I want we play like a secon half of it every game but never do like the first twenty minutes, that kill me.
