Newell’s Old Boys, the best team name in soccer
By: Jeremy | April 11th, 2008It’s official, la lepra has been chosen as the club team with the best name by perhaps the leading Chilean based North American english teaching internet authority on football.
When told about the honor, Caruso Lombardi responded by tearing up and saying “that ones for Bielsa.” Well, that is what I imagine he would say if he read English (I don’t know if he can or not), frequented the Offside, and was a Seattle Sounders fan.

Sure it is, that name was to honor a great english teacher and precursor of football in argentina, don Isaac Newells.
