

Newell’s Old Boys, the best team name in soccer

When told about the honor, Caruso Lombardi responded by tearing up and saying “that ones for Bielsa.” Well, that is what I imagine he would say if he read English (I don’t know if he can or not), frequented the Offside, and was a Seattle Sounders fan.

Sure it is, that name was to honor a great english teacher and precursor of football in argentina, don Isaac Newells.
