Players That Could Be Leaving

By: Jeremy | February 27th, 2009

Well, Gaston Machin is lodging a formal complaint against Newell’s looking to receive back wages. If Newell’s doesn’t work something out, he would be out of contract and able to return to Independiente. He was fine with the payment arrangements with the new administration, since the debt was from the tenure of Lope$. But now that he isn’t playing regularly he has changed his mind. If he had produced consistently last season he’d actually be playing now.

Sebastian Grazzini is also filing a complaint with idea of heading to Racing to rejoin Caruso Lombardi, who brought him to Newell’s. Since the process takes a while and the deadline for signing players who aren’t under contract is the 6th week of the season, it looks like Newell’s will negotiate some sort of reduction in wages owed and let him go to Racing.

Leandro Armani and Ivan Pillud arrived at Newell’s from Tiro Federal on a free loan for one year with no option to buy or extend. Negotiations are underway to keep them both with la Lepra for the long term, but so far they haven’t produced any results, which could be why Armani isn’t starting. If negotiations fail, Sensini could decide to plan for next season and pull Pillud from the starting XI also.

Their are rumors that Ricky wants Pablo Perez to join Racing also, but since Machin looks to be heading out the door, Perez is next on the depth chart behind Sperdutti, so I don’t imagine that Lorente and the gang will let him go.

We missed a good opportunity to stay up but, I think Sensini can fix our problems, I think Armani has to be titular, he got a gol per game as titular, come on! go la lerpa!!!

Armani should be starting, no doubt about it. Salcedo is good, but Armani brings an energy to the team that is lacking on offense without him.
