Possible Replacements for Gamboa
By: Jeremy | December 16th, 2008Well, the rumor mill is up and running. The name with the most traction seems to be ex-Lanus coach Ramon Cabrero. According to Rosario3 he has confided that he would be extremely interested if a proposal was made. He has, of course, denied any official contact.

Ramon Cabrero
Next up is long time Loco Bielsa assistant, former goal keeper in Newell’s lower divisions, and currently in charge of the lower divisions at Atlas (Mexico). If La Lepra want him, they’ll have to fight off competition from Argentinos Juniors, who are thinking of him to replace departed Nestor Gorosito.

I heard toto Berizo named, he’s Bielsa assistant in chile and former Newell’s player multiple champion with la lepra. I don’t know if he got any experience as coach.

I even read Tolo’s name being tossed about today. We’ll see. From what I read Vivas is the front runner. Of course, he’ll have to coach for free for a little while.
