Sensini says no, and other stuff
By: Jeremy | December 21st, 2008Seems like Roberto Sensini has turned down repeated offers by Newell’s to be the new coach, citing ethical reasons. He was a loud opponent of Lope$ during his presidency embezzlementcy of la Lepra and doesn’t feel like he should appear to be profiting from that.
The good news coming from the AFA headquarters is that Newell’s owns Leandro Torres and Nico Spolli completely and that they still own half of Santiago Salcedo. On the other hand, a business man owns 50% of Re and Sperdutti. And Newell’s only owns 7% of Bernardello. Naturally said business man was one of the first people through the door once Lorente won the election, promising to work with the club in any way he could.
According to FIFA, their can be no third party ownership of a player, so he has a lot to lose if Newell’s decides to not respect any contracts he has with players and the club. Personally I wouldn’t honor any thing that isn’t according to the
Salcedo is good news, not for his return, although I’d love to see him back if Fabbiani goes, but because they could sell the other half and raise some much needed cash.
On the transfer front, Boca seems ready to table a 500,000 offer for Schiavi, which Newell’s would take, since someone of the back four will be sold to pay bills.
Prison would almost be too good for Lope$, almost.

There’re back to saying that Sensini’s going to sign… We will see what they say by the time I get home from work, either the wheel will continue to spin, or we have our new coach.
