The Barra Has Nothing to do With Lopez

By: Jeremy | October 26th, 2008

The barra has nothing to do with the running of Newell’s. Zilch. Zero. Nada. So says leaders of the barra and president Eduardo Lopez. And who could dispute these men of honor. I mean, nothing in their history would cause people to doubt them, right? Oh yeah, except the fact that in Eduardo Lopez’ first ever open question press conference this past Friday, he was surrounded by members of the barra, and they were interspersed with the journalists. I’m sure that meant nothing. I mean, at Boca and River and Arsenal and Milan and Bayern they do that all the time, right? Right? Lopez wouldn’t lie about his connections to the barra, would he?

Nah, it’s far beyond Lopez to lie, cheat, and steal… Well, it is, isn’t it? (All said with a nod and a wink and a tongue in my cheek.)

He also said that his administration is very successful.

we played in this 14 years 32 championships, we just won 1, and just played two internationals cups without any success. And lately we struggle with descenso.

What a f.. he is talking about? I hate this guy.

    Go Newell’s !!!!

Jose, he meant successful in the sense of fattening his wallet with La Lepra plata. Did you listen to the whole interview? The fact that he could say all that and not at least smirk tells me that once he gets the boot from Newell’s he has one hell of a future on the World Poker Tour.
