The offers are coming in, sort of

By: Jeremy | June 13th, 2008

Well, Salcedo and his 17 goals for the year is in demand. Atlas and Toluca from Mexico and various other Argentine teams have expressed interest, but I doubt he will move since the rumored price is around $5 million.

Panathinaikos (Greece) sent someone out to watch Spolli. And Re is going to receive an offer, or so they say. The plan is to keep Sa-sa and sell one of the two defenders. I’m going on record with Re. He means a lot to the club, but Spolli is more important to the back line.

I heard today that River is also interested in Santiago Salcedo. What’s the asking price?

I’m sure since it’s the end of the season, everyone and their grandmother will be shopping for a good striker.

Well, I’ve seen 5 million dollars, and he is one of Lopez’s prizes, but given the tendency of our ‘dear’ pres over the time of his reign, he could go for a lot less if Lopez wanted to remodel his house or take an extended vacation. 5 million is a lot of cash, but River and Toluca/Atlas can surely scrape it together. After the Central game I really thought he might even get some smaller European club interest.

Trouble is, take out Sa-sa and NOB loses two more games, easy. The other strikers aren’t up to filling his shoes. So that kind of cash could buy some decent players, they have no offense without him.
