We NEED a striker

By: Jeremy | July 2nd, 2008

First Lopez decided to sign with Velez, now Bracamonte has signed for six more months in Russia. Even Leandro Armani is no longer a definite. What the crap is going on here? If it weren’t for Salcedo, we would most likely be fighting the promotion. The other strikers on the team don’t cut it. I don’t really care who they sign, but sign some one good and some one soon. I hear Drogba is unhappy.

thou drogba would be a nice addition to the team i think he would unhappy with the salary. Eduardo Lopez the club president is talking to Argentinos Juniors Striker Alejando “el flaco” Del Orte. Caruso knows him from when he was coaching Argentinos. Ive always had faith in Damian Stienert hes been with the club since the 8th division i think we need to give him some more time up top

I think Del Orte is probably the most likely replacement due to his history with Caruso, although I have mixed feelings about him. He didn’t always impress me this season, although I only saw a couple of Argentinos games. Scott over at the Argentinos blog pretty much has no use for him, so I think I would almost rather hand it over to Steinert.

I had hoped to see Steinert spend more time on the field this season. From what I saw, he has got real skill, but desperately needs more experience. He just seemed lost sometimes. Part of that is just not playing with the first team enough and part of it is needing to mature a bit.

i conincide with you about stienert sometimes he wants to do WAY to much but he lacks 1st team experience. I would welcome Delorte up top. Newells brought in Fereyra who quite honestly SUCKED all season he got 2 goals against Arsenal and that was it!

Yeah, I was a big supporter of Fereyra in the beginning, but he didn’t play well at all. I read where Delorte got an offer from Turkey (or maybe Greece)and is probably going to take it, but it may all be rumor. And Armani is no sure thing now, either, so Steinert may be the guy by default.

which we would be great for him, Stienert has played his entire carrer in Newells he truly know what it feels like to put that jersey on!
Delorte does have a deal with Aris FC in Greece
    Armani is at Argentinos Juniors
Spoli may be sold to river and as part of payment we may get Cristian Nasuti (excellent central defender) and Gustavo Bou or Andres Rios 2 youth syestem players
Juan Insauradle signed today as well

    2 new names circling
Jose Montiel (Reggina and Udinesse) has been in rosario the last few days and does have a concrete chance of playing. He is 20 years old and has a bright future plays Central Mid. Somethign we need
    Carlos Mancinelli (Man-chi-nelly)
PLayed for Olimpo last season. Central Defender about 6′2 (1,94M). Good player. Played In Olimpo (relegated) and the year before in Belgrano (Relegated that year).

Dear Gentlemen, I would start with turning the temperature up a tad at your delightful little stadium on the park there so that the crowd can sing and dance a little…then we can concern ourselves with strikers and defenders…a leper among lepers…
